Principal Objectives:

We are seeking enthusiastic, proactive, and forward-thinking Graduates to join our fast-paced, expanding company. Our 18-month graduate programme will help shape you to become a future leader in the food production sector. Through varied placements, mentoring and training, our graduates are given the platform to develop management skills, learn in a diverse and innovative environment, and be part of an industry that puts quality and customers first. As a Pickstock Graduate you’ll:

  • Have an 18-month rotational programme which will cover: Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Commercial, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR
  • Understand the full extent of our Beef Processing factory, understand from farm to fork the process our products go through to reach the end customer. Have access to all elements of production/operations.
  • Learn about all elements of the operations of our business through rotating placements – this will involve going in to all areas of production
  • You’ll be supported in each of your rotations to gain hands on knowledge and experience of the team and overall function
  • You’ll have lots of opportunities to put your skills and learning into practice supporting key activities
  • Aim to maximise profits through developing sales strategies that match customer requirements and by promoting products, services or ideas.
  • To develop and manage commercial activities of the business. To develop and implement an innovative, growth focused commercial strategy, focusing primarily on new product areas and emerging markets. To ensure `that profitable business growth is accelerated, and that commercial success is achieved.

Production Roles:

Night Hygiene Operative


Pickstock Telford are looking for a Night Industrial Hygiene Operative to join our team at our meat processing factory based in Telford.

The duties will include:

Follow Standard Operating Procedures for completion of hygiene tasks

Clean down of machinery in production areas to the correct standards

Completion of line wash downs in a timely and consistent manner

Maintain a clean as you go area and demonstrate good manufacturing practice (GMP)

Work on different lines and areas where required

Knowledge of chemicals and machinery which is used in the clean down process.


Hours are : Monday-Friday 17:00-03:00

Flexibility to work a Saturday, if required.

Salary: From £10.00 per hour



Despatch Operative


Pickstock Telford is looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the Despatch team as a Despatch Operative.

The principal objective of this role is to assist the despatch supervisors and manager to despatch all products efficiently and to customer specification.

Responsibilities include:

  • Scanning Stock
  • Prepare pallets for loading
  • Correctly identify stock, ensuring rotation
  • Palletise and locate stock when necessary in accordance with specifications
  • Ensure stock is picked in rotation and pallets are prepared ready for Despatch
  • To produce to the required volumes and quality of product as required by the business and its customers, working to specification


Full training is provided, competitive pay rates and opportunity for progression.

Salary: From £10.00 per hour



Abattoir Operatives


Previous experience is not essential and all training is provided.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing of cattle in accordance with individual training and licensing as applicable.

Duties include:


  • Dressing, Trimming and Cutting of the Carcass
  • Ensuring all parts of the carcass are trimmed to produce optimum production yield
  • Removal of waste according to company policy
  • Preparation of animal carcasses

We are looking for skilled and semi skilled Butchers to join the team in the Boning Hall.


Skills Required:

  • Knife Skills
  • Previous experience in Butchery


  • Previous experience in Beef manufacturing
  • Trimming beef to customer specification


Salary is dependent on experience, we have a structured training and development programme with the opportunity of fast progression.

Working hours: -7:00-16:30 Monday-Friday



Apprentice Butcher

An exciting job opportunity has arisen to join Pickstock Telford as an Apprentice Butcher. This role offers a successful and rewarding career alongside gaining a recognised Butchery qualification. This will be a great learning environment for an Apprentice looking to master the trade of butchery.

You will work alongside highly knowledgeable and reputable, Managers, Supervisors and Butchers to develop a wide skillset to ensure you can start your career in this exciting industry.

No previous experience necessary as all training will be provided.


What will you gain?

A Level 2 qualification in Butchery.

Level 2 Butchery Apprenticeship Qualification

A Full-time permanent position at Pickstock after the Apprenticeship

An excellent understanding of supply chain and production flow.

Learning the carcass model and all cuts of meat.

Understanding of customer specifications & yields.

Meat Packer


We currently have roles available in the Packing area in the Boning Hall, working in a fast pased environment on a production line. This role involves:

  • Ensuring product is packed into the correct boxes in line with customer specification
  • Using OCM machinery to create labels ready for Despatch
  • Using the Vakpac machine ensuring product is sealed ready for Despatch

Please note: This role does involve manual handling.

All training is provided, and it is a great opportunity for career progression and to be part of a successful growing company.

Quality Inspector


Pickstock Telford have an exciting opportunity for a Food Production Operative to join their Quality team. The role will be based within the Abattoir and the Boning Hall. The role has great progression routes through the Quality department.


Responsibilities will include but are not subject to:

  • Visual carcass inspections and necessary trimming to agreed procedures and schedules
  • Checking for contamination and advise department supervisors/QA of any issues.
  • Raise internal non-conformances when necessary and inform all relevant personnel

. Complete daily inspection records

  • Adhere to current legislation with regards to safe food production


Skills & personal qualities:

  • Understand the importance of health, safety, and hygiene.
  • Previous work experience in the meat industry is desirable.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be methodical and pay attention to detail.
  • Be able to build good working relationships with people.


Full Time Permanent role.
