We’re excited to be recruiting for a new Farm & Integrated Beef Admin Manager – a rare opportunity for someone to join our team and play an important part in both the day-to-day running of Brongain Farm and the continued development of the Pickstock Integrated Beef Supply Chain.
This isn’t a traditional farm secretary role — but farm administration is very much at the heart of the position. The successful candidate will take ownership of much of the administration that keeps a busy farming operation running smoothly. That includes maintaining accurate livestock movement and statutory records, keeping farm paperwork organised and audit-ready, processing invoices and delivery documentation, supporting purchasing and supplier payments, and helping ensure the farm is prepared for assurance, customer and regulatory audits.
For someone who enjoys being organised and likes the satisfaction of knowing that records are accurate and paperwork is where it needs to be, this is an opportunity to become an important part of the farm team.
From farm administration to the wider supply chain
What makes the position particularly unusual is that the role doesn’t stop at the farm office. As our B&B Integrated Beef Supply Chain continues to grow, so does the amount of information, financial administration and data required to manage it effectively. The successful candidate will therefore also become a key point of control for information moving through the supply chain – from cattle movements and weights through to farmer payments, invoicing and performance reporting.
It creates an interesting combination: hands-on farm administration alongside the opportunity to become involved in the commercial, financial, and data side of a growing integrated beef supply chain.
A role with real variety
No two weeks are likely to look exactly the same. You could be maintaining livestock records, resolving a paperwork query with a farmer, processing invoices, preparing documentation for an audit, checking information for a farmer payment run, reconciling cattle weights and movements, or helping produce management information on the performance of the supply chain. You’ll work closely with our Farm Manager, Integrated Beef Supply Chain Manager, finance and commercial teams, as well as farmers, suppliers, hauliers, vets and other partners across the supply chain.
More than administration
While strong administration is the foundation of the role, there is also an opportunity to develop beyond it. We want the person joining us to become an important part of how we understand and manage the performance of the farm and supply chain. That means working with information on livestock numbers, liveweight gain, days on farm, finished cattle performance, cost per head, cost per kg gain, farmer payments, and supply chain throughput.
Over time, there will also be opportunities to help develop KPIs, dashboards, SQL-based reporting and improved digital systems – turning raw information into something genuinely useful for commercial and operational decision-making.
Helping build the systems for the future
This is also an opportunity to join at an interesting stage in the development of our integrated supply chain. We want to continue improving how information moves through the business, reducing duplicate data entry and moving away from manual and spreadsheet-based processes where better integrated digital systems can be developed.Ultimately, our aim is to create a single, accurate source of information across the farm and integrated beef supply chain — allowing us to track cattle effectively, understand performance, and make better decisions based on reliable data.
The person taking on this role will have the opportunity to be part of building that infrastructure rather than simply inheriting an established administrative process.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, numerate with excellent attention to detail. You don’t necessarily need to arrive with years of agricultural experience. An understanding of farming, livestock, accounts, databases or supply chains would certainly be useful, but just as important is having the right mindset and a willingness to learn.
If you enjoy keeping things organised, making sense of information, spotting discrepancies, improving processes and making sure things are done accurately and on time, this could be a very good fit.
Strong Excel skills will be important, as will the confidence to work with significant volumes of data and financial information. You’ll also need to be comfortable communicating with people across the business and with farmers and other external partners.
A rare opportunity to grow with the role
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this position is its potential. It offers the chance to become a trusted part of the day-to-day farm operation while also developing skills and experience across finance, data, commercial reporting and integrated supply-chain management.
As the farm and integrated beef supply chain develop, we expect the role to develop with them. For the right person, it represents a rare opportunity to build a career that combines practical farm administration with agriculture, data, finance and supply-chain management — and to make a tangible contribution to how the business operates and evolves.
This is a full-time role based at our farm near the Wales-Shropshire border from Monday-Friday for 40 hours per week. A salary of between £30,000-£35,000 will be considered based on experience with a three-month probation period.
If you’re highly organised, commercially minded, confident with detail and looking for a role where you can take real ownership and grow with the business, we’d love to hear from you, please send your CV and covering letter to [email protected].
