We were delighted to be featured in Farmer’s Weekly last month, showcasing the work underway at Brongain Farm our innovation farm.

The article highlighted some of the innovative approaches we’re trialling to strengthen calf health and welfare, reduce antibiotics, improve performance and support more sustainable systems across the beef supply chain. This includes the use of behaviour-monitoring ear tags, antibody testing, automated feeders and proactive health planning developed alongside our farm vets.

These technologies don’t replace good stockmanship, they enhance it. And that was an important part of the story: by combining stockman skill with evidence-based innovation, we can shorten finishing periods, improve resilience and support British farmers to produce high-quality, sustainable beef.

Sharing this work publicly is a key part of our commitment to knowledge transfer. As a British beef processor working closely with trusted farming partners across the UK, we want farmers within our supply chain to benefit from the insights discovered at Brongain.

A big thank you to Farmer’s Weekly for taking the time to shine a light on the work happening behind the scenes. We’ll continue to share the results of ongoing trials as the programme develops.
