We supply only 100% high quality British beef, sourced from our trusted farming partners and distributed to retailers, butchers and foodservice professionals across the world. And because we know our cattle and our farming partners, we can guarantee the highest quality beef is produced for all requirements.
Established in 2004, beef processing was a natural progression from the family business of farming and livestock trading. Three generations of Pickstock continue to run day-to-day operations, introducing pioneering new processes into our farm and meat processing facilities alongside our broader team of experts.
Since 2014, we’ve been drawing upon the global skills and experience of our business partner OSI – a global supplier of custom value-added food products to the world’s leading foodservice and retail food brands. OSI has logistical scales and global presence with 65 facilities in 18 countries and regions.
Our partnership includes:
We provide pasture to plate food solutions, drawing from our unique position of owning our own farm, processing facility and our very own restaurant.
Brongain Farm is our centre of excellence for the farming community and industry bodies to learn, share and create new ideas. We are leaders in our field, spearheading the use of the latest farming techniques centred around four core areas; animal welfare, genetics, environmental footprint, and financial sustainability. Focussing on every aspect from rearing to finishing, the farm provides a state-of-the-art facility for trials and a hub for knowledge exchange. Aiming for Net Zero by 2030, we are trailing commercially viable practices, allowing producers to see how they can incorporate sustainable methods on their own farms.
Through our highly accredited, state of the art processing facilities we supply the finest British beef across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. Managed by a skilled and experienced team who are dedicated to safety and quality, we ensure the highest animal welfare standards thanks to our Dr Temple Grandin accredited lairage. We process up to 500 cattle a day as well as having the ability to debone 8,000 quarters a week in our expanded boning hall. Our foodservice and retail unit can produce bespoke product and packaging solutions to deliver against our customer needs.
We have invested in Lumachain AI/smart technology to enhance:
Safety – of the food itself and the people who produce it.
Yield – minimising meat left on the bone.
Quality – ensuring food is produced to the exact specification.
Efficiency – carrying out processes efficiently and effectively.
Traceability – an ability to track and trace meat (right down to individual cuts) as it moves through the supply chain.
Our quality beef products have global reach – our channels include foodservice, retail and wholesale as well as exporting into Europe and across the globe. From carefully matured vac-pac primal cuts through to precision portioned, minced, diced, sliced cuts of your choice, we deliver bespoke solutions according to our customers’ needs. We have a choice of brands to create a tailored product and packaging solution: Herdsman’s, Origin Prime Select, Finest Welsh Country or Angus Gold - using the finest quality British beef packed full of flavour that delivers the quality and consistency our customers expect.
Close to our Brongain Farm centre of excellence in the Welsh borders is our very own pub - the Plas y dinas. Completing the journey from pasture to plate, the Plas y dinas only serves the finest quality British beef sourced through our business, giving us the chance to demonstrate the quality, tenderness and depth of flavour that our beef offers. Our head chef and their culinary team would be delighted to see you and show you just how good our British beef is.
