Managing Director Greg Pickstock said:
“We’re proud to have created a market-leading business which not only prides itself on supplying the finest quality British beef, but also one that is at the forefront of cattle breeding advances at our Brongain Farm facility on the Welsh borders.
“As we mark 20 years in business, we’re also looking to the future as we drive towards net zero carbon emissions across our farming and beef processing businesses.
“While embracing new technology to create better beef, the real driving force behind our business is our people. More than 50 employees are still with us since day one, many of them now in senior roles where they are passing down their experience to new starters to allow consistency of quality within our product offering.”
Initially located in Ashby, Derbyshire, Pickstock relocated to its purpose-built £12.5 million site in Telford in 2004. Since then, the site has received millions of pounds in investment to create one of the most technology-driven beef processing plants in the UK.
Advances over the years include the introduction of a boning hall, an anaerobic digester plant to cut emissions, a new foodservice and retail unit, plus the adoption of Lumachain AI technology which maximises yield, enhances quality and allows increased traceability of the meat as it passes through the supply chain.
Greg added:
“Looking ahead, we’ll continue to make significant investments in our business to ensure our position as a marketing leading supplier. We have exciting plans in the pipeline, including the launch of a new site in the south of England in the coming months.”
