Sally Leese

Harper Adams University Graduate 2019

BSc (Hons) Agri-Food Marketing with Business

“Pickstock pride themselves on creating strong relations throughout the whole supply chain from farmers through to retailers. I chose Pickstock’s graduate scheme as I liked the idea of working for a family run business who have created an integrated supply chain. The opportunity for career progression was also appealing with Pickstock investing in the next generation of the industry.

I’m enjoying learning about how the business works in addition to the organisation’s culture and business strategies. I am given the exposure that is needed to develop my knowledge of the red meat industry and enjoy being part of the ‘Pickstock Team’.

I am looking forward to gaining an overview of the whole business which will create an invaluable understanding of how Pickstock operates from every department.”

Carys Storer Jones

Harper Adams University Placement Student 2018-2019

Agriculture with Marketing Student

“I started my placement year in August 2018 as a Marketing Administrator. I was introduced to the company whilst they were undergoing a number of exciting changes with the opening of the new foodservice unit, the company undergoing a full rebrand and the launch of ‘Brongain Farms’. These milestones allowed me to have great exposure to the company learning about different aspects of the business. My highlights include attending agricultural shows with the procurement team, helping to organise staff and company events and designing and developing marketing materials.

The experience I gained on my placement year was invaluable. On my return to my final year at university I felt more confident, reassured and excited for what is to come after I graduate.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at Pickstock and would highly recommend the company to others seeking a career in the beef industry.”
